TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan, Feb. 16 (PIA)-Lovers spent their Valentine's Day celebration in jail, including their friend, after joint operatives of different law enforcement agencies from the Cagayan Valley Region and Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) arrested them for possessing more or less 600 kilogram of marijuana in a buy-bust operation on February 13.
Suspects Rusty Jay Mariano Y Sevillano, 29, a resident of San Francisco Del Monte, Quezon City; Luzielle Tinaza Y Vivero, 32, a resident of Tandang Sora, Quezon City and Adrian Pagarigan, 19, a resident of Project 8, Quezon City were arrested in one of the lodges at barangay San Rafael in Roxas, Isabela.
The buy-bust operation was a joint operations of PDEA CAR, PDEA RO II, Kalinga PIB-PDEU, Roxas MPS, S2 Isabela, PDEAU-IPPO and RDEU Cagayan.
Confiscated during the operation were: 5 bricks of dried Marijuana leaves, MOL 20 grams of suspected dried MJ stalks, 2 small self-sealing plastic sachets containing three 3 grams of MJ dried leaves, 1) small heat-sealed transparent sachet containing white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu weighing one (1) gram and assorted drug paraphernalia.
The three suspects were brought to PDEA RO II for proper disposition prior filing of appropriate charges against them while the pieces of evidence seized were turned-over to PDEA RO II Laboratory Service for chemical analysis.
Mariano, Tinaza and Pagarigan shall be facing charges for violations of Section 11 (Possession), Section 12 (Paraphernalia) and Section 15 (Use) of RA 9165.
"Seizure of MJ has been the trend since the start of the year. We shall put a halt on this until the last source arrested," Christy E. Silvan, officer-in-charge of PDEA-2 said. (MDCT, with reports from PDEA-2/PIA-2)
