The Tampa Bay Buccaneers re-signed quarterback Blaine Gabbert to a one-year deal Thursday, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported.
The 30-year-old journeyman will serve as a backup to Tom Brady and continue his relationship with head coach Bruce Arians.
The Buccaneers signed Gabbert a year ago, but he dislocated his left (non-throwing) shoulder in a preseason game and was placed on injured reserve in September.
Gabbert played for Arians in Arizona during the 2017 season, completing 95 of 171 passes for 1,086 yards, six touchdowns and six interceptions in five starts (2-3 record).
The 10th overall pick in the 2011 NFL Draft by Jacksonville, Gabbert owns a 13-35 record as a starter and has 48 touchdown passes and 47 interceptions in 56 games with the Jaguars (2011-13), San Francisco 49ers (2014-16), Cardinals (2017) and Tennessee Titans (2018).
