Arizona freshman point guard Nico Mannion announced Tuesday that he is declaring for the NBA draft.

The 6-foot-3 Mannion was a second-team All-Pacific-12 selection in his lone college season.

"I have decided to declare for the 2020 NBA Draft," Mannion began in his announcement posted on Twitter. "I want to thank everyone who has truly helped me throughout my journey, you know who you are, including Coach (Sean) Miller for giving me the opportunity to play in front of the best fans in the country."

Mannion averaged 14.0 points, 5.3 assists and 2.5 rebounds in 32 games for the Wildcats. He shot 39.2 percent from the field, including 32.7 from 3-point range.

Mannion is projected as the 10th overall selection in the latest mock draft by nbadraft.net.

The 19-year-old Mannion was a McDonald's All-American in his final season of high school and also has played for Italy's national team. He has dual citizenship due to being born in Siena. His father, Pace Mannion, played professional basketball in Italy.

Pace Mannion was a second-round pick (43rd overall) by the Golden State Warriors in the 1983 NBA Draft and played parts of six NBA seasons.
