Los San Francisco 49ers anunciaron este martes que han contratado por dos aos al esquineroSiran Neal. Este defensor cuenta con 30 aos de edad. Neal originalmente entr a la NFL cuando los Buffalo Bills lo reclutaron de la universidad de Jacksonville State durante la quinta ronda con el pick 17 en el NFL Draft de 2018. En Buffalo se qued hasta la temporada 2023 y el ao pasado jug en los Miami Dolphins.
Con Miami, Neal apareci en los 17 partidos de la temporada pasada, pero ninguno como titular, ya que su gran especialidad es jugar en los equipos especiales. En 2024 registr siete tacleadas en equipos especiales y tiene un total de 60 tacleadas en equipos especiales en toda su carrera. Puede jugar tambin como esquinero nickel, pero en su mayora aparece en equipos especiales.
Construyendo una Nueva Unidad
Los 49ers tienen nuevo coordinador de equipos especiales este ao con Brant Boyer, quien trabaj con el coordinador defensivo de San Francisco, Robert Saleh, en los New York Jets. All Boyer fue el coordinador de equipos especiales por nueve temporadas hasta el ao pasado. Desde el arranque del periodo de agencia libre este ao, los 49ers han contratado varios jugadores con gran habilidad para desempearse en equipos especiales.
