Los San Francisco 49ers anunciaron que han contratado al safetyJason Pinnockpor un ao. Pinnock viene de jugar los ltimos tres aos con los New York Giants. Sin embargo, l entr a la NFL originalmente cuando los New York Jets lo reclutaron de la universidad de Pittsburgh en el NFL Draft 2021 con el pick 31 durante la quinta ronda. Eso significa que en su temporada de novato fue entrenado por el ahora nuevamente coordinador defensivo de los 49ers, Robert Saleh y por el que tambin ahora es el nuevo coordinador de equipos especiales de San Francisco, Brant Boyer.
En su segundo ao en la NFL, los Jets necesitaron cortarlo, pero Saleh resalt en ese entonces lo difcil que fue esa decisin porque es un jugador que realmente le agrada.
"Es muy difcil porque l tiene mucho talento. l tiene un futuro brillante delante de l. Ojal podamos recuperarlo, obviamente desde el punto de vista de la escuadra de prcticas, pero, sabes, es el sistema de waivers que t siempre planeas para el plantel", seal Saleh en 2022 como entrenador en jefe de los Jets.
Bueno, ahora en los 49ers Saleh debe estar feliz porque logr recuperar a Pinnock. Este safety cuenta con apenas 25 aos de edad y cuando se fue a jugar en los Giants tras su temporada de novato en los Jets, logr acumular 6.5 sacks, 11 pases defendidos y regres una intercepcin para un touchdown en tres aos. Fue titular en un total de 32 partidos en las ltimas dos temporadas que pas con los Giants. Agregar profundidad en los 49ers detrs deMalik MustaphayJi'Ayir Brown. Incluso Pinnock puede aportar en los equipos especiales, ya que jug mucho en esa unidad cuando fue dirigido por Boyer en la unidad de equipos especiales de los Jets durante su primer ao en la NFL.
